Your site is almost ready!

ManIcanLogo4Ladies and gentlemen your new site is almost ready!

It has been a while since we have had a public class because of all the work we have been doing on the site. We are working on some very big changes.

Most learning sites have a focus on us and them. The us being the school or instructor base, the them being you. In that kind of environment it is hard to feel like a community. Here at Blenducation we want everyone to feel like this is their site. Blender is not an easy application to learn but with the right help anything is possible.  Those are not the only changes we have been making….

…. so I thought it was about time to let the public see some of these other changes.

Roles:

Students:

We are working on making the process of signing up for a class easier than ever before. Following the models of other popular services like GoToMeeting and WebEx, we are going to make this very easy to use but cut out much of the cost (striving for $0).

We are also adding a library of video tutorials with new control features… Still in the works, so stay tuned for this.

Many other feature rich options for learning such as Multi-lesson sessions and Virtual Job Tickets. Virtual Job tickets will be an assignment that students will be requires to accomplish within a set time, these assignments will then be corrected by one of our talented instructors and feed back will be given to the student.

If these things sound interesting wait till you see what is still on the drawing board…. sign up and stay in school.

Contributors:

Blenducation is offering out a limited amount of  contributor’s passes. These are free and will be given to those that would like to hunt down the best video tutorials around the net and put them in one central location. This will aid new users in finding good tutorials without searching through thousands of out dated tutorials.

Please be sure to check out the “Why Sign Up” link.

Instructors:

  • As an instructor you can set up live classes, both paid and free.
  • You can add videos and assets in seconds. (just like YouTube and Vimeo we will convert the files on our server)
  • You can take advantage all Blenducation’s new functionality.

Please understand that there is limited amount of time slots and they will be filed in a first-come first serve basis.

Happy Blending starts here.

Dear fellow 3d artist,

Well, our fund raiser has come to an end. Thanks to all of you that offered your hard earned money to help us out.

All the proceeds go right back into keeping the site growing. We very happy with all that people have offered so far.

It is only with your continued support that we can bring you live, online, quality classes at such low cost. It is important to us to stay innovative in offering new services to you all

the time and improving the services we now offer. It is only with your support that we can ensure the delivery of cutting edge services at rock bottom cost. So please continue to show

your support. Because, with out you, there is no Blenducation.

Thank you all,

Dipingo

Title: Controlling DoF with an Empty

Duration: About one hour
Time: 9:30 pm Est
Date: June 19, 2009
Subject: Controlling Depth of Field with an Empty
Instructor: Dipingo

DipdDOF

Blender skill level: Intermediate

Details: In this class you will learn how to set up a Camera that is controlled by using an empty.

This is by far the best way to control your camera with Blender (IMHO).

It is like having an auto focus on your camera. This set up works great for stills as well as animations that require a nice minimal focus area.

Every Blender artist should add this to their skill set to enable them to quickly and effortlessly track objects in their videos and stills.

If you can make it to the free class we do have a recorded one you can purchase below.

To sign up for the FREE live class just click on the red date on the calender on the right and add your name.

You can also chose to purchase this class as a recording for only $5us by selecting the buy now option below:

To order the recording of this class just click on the Paypal button below. After checkout is complete you can chose to download a PDF, watch the

class on-line streaming in MP4 or AVI or download the video in AVI or MP4 so you can watch it when you want.

Hope to see you there,
Dipingo
