About us
Blenducation’s Mission: This is your site!
Firstly; the mission of this project is to provide a Live, high quality learning platform for anyone wishing to learn and teach to enhance their professional skill set. In this troubled, global economy we could all use a little help.
Secondly; we want to illustrate the possibilities that Open Source can provide corporations, educational institutions and all sizes of studio, by offering cutting edge, on-line, live classrooms, which are FREE or very low cost, we are making education affordable to everyone.
Finally; it is of the utmost importance that everyone gets involved. This is your site! In order for this project to grow into a truly functional, useful tool that brings affordable educational resources to anyone anywhere in the world, we need your help. So, please help if you can… (email us at services@blenducation.org to find out what you can do)
What do we need is you!
We need feedback! Join in on the forum or send us an e-mail to tell us what we can improve. Take the surveys because they will tell the instructors what lessons you would most like to learn. However, most of all, we need students so go to the MAIN page and join a class.
On the shoulders of giants.
How does this all work?
By using open source software, Blenducation is able to provide a service of bringing quality, cutting-edge instruction and support to anyone, anywhere for little to no cost for the students as well as the instructor.
How is it free? What is the catch?
Again, open source is FREE. Developers work very hard making quality software to rival the best commercial software, but they do depend on donations. So, if you find a useful application, and are able to make a contribution, please do so.
Unfortunately, not everything is free. We have to pay for hosting, streaming, ect. If you can help please do so at ….
Visit: http://www.osalt.com/ for more opensource alternatives!
As far as Blenducation, we will be operating at a loss until we get Advertisers interested, we get some kind of corporate sponsorship or we get lots of students who love the classes so much, they feel they want to offer a financial contribution or wish to attend advanced (paid) classes.
We offer some down-loadable of classes as well which are offered for a small fee.
You said the Classes are FREE!
Not just one class either, many of the beginner live classes are totally free. No small print, no monthly charge and no registration other than here at Blenducation (We can’t send you class invites with out your email address). Happy Blending.

I’m pretty new here and for me this sounds great. The Problem is, I don’t live in the USA so it will be hard to join a class
Well just an idea, I work a lot with Blender 3D and I realized that it’s hard to find good textures (perhaps I’m too stupid in searching lol) so why don’t you creat an upload gallery, where user can share their self made textures?
Just an idea, probabely this will be also good for promotion
well anyways, I like what you have created here
great work
Thank you for the offer! Any help in this project is welcomed. Aslo, many people have asked about advanced classes and there will be advanced classes. Some will be offered for a minimal fee, others will be free. So check that calendar on the front page.
Thanks again and happy Blending,
Dipingo
Blenducation is a GREAT idea and makes use of the web best possible way!!!
I’m totally syched for this!
See you all in class!
and thanx!!! ;0)
Why not offer DVD/online training on blender, you can charge a small fee and use the fee to support the site? I love what u are currently doing but the time difference make it difficult to attend the training.
Hi,
I signed up for the class, didn’t receive any email yet to log in for the live event.
Elubie, For some reason other too have had this happen. It can be for many number of reasons. The site is still being worked on so please bare with us.
As for not being in the US. That is not a Problem. We are working hard to get class set up in different time zones to help everyone out. Also, we are making the Events clock more user friendly. You can now pick your time zone to see when the classes will be for you.
Thank you all for your input.
Dipingo
Hi, I’m new here and I just wanted to tell you that this website is great! I started with Blender some weeks ago and this kinds of tutorials are really helpful.Anyway, I had a problem with the second part of the Introduction to Modeling (Part B) ..the link seems to be broken or something so I couldn’t end that part. I hope you can help me, and great work !
I’m sorry, now I found the tutorials in other part of the web and they are working…I’ll keep watching
Great concept. Restores your faith in people to see so much work going into something to help out others. If you need any help just ask (not sure what – I know nothing about Blender yet only After Effects!! lol).
This will be a success when more ppl hear about it. I have been searching for over a week for tutorials on blender and only came to this site today via a link on another resource site.
Just a thought, but Dipingo, have you advertised this on blenderartists? I still wanted to call it elysiun… shows how long ago I joined!
I’m registered, and I suppose I’ll try teaching classes related to basics (I need to go over those, I think). Also, just a thought, but maybe we can have video forums, where there is no “teacher”, just one person holding a video thread. This could be especially good for blender windows layout idea trading (i.e for dual monitor, or different type of work done).
This came about just in time: I needed a good reason to get back into blender a little more seriously
See you on Monday night!
I’m trying to advertise “privately” though I’m probably shooting myself in the leg if this becomes too popular and we’re running out of free seats *lol*
I’m in Europe, too, but Saturday noon classes are manageable (20:00-23:00pm). Though the time zone problem kept me from enrolling before. You guys should open a european branch, seriously. I’m sure it’s gonna become big soon! Just need some reliable & able people who speak decent english, maybe in Great Britain…
I too am looking forward to the introduction class tomorrow (Wednesday). I have fiddled with and tried 3d programs before but want to get a little serious about learning it. There is nothing better than a free class to give me some of the information I need to decide whether to continue or not. Thank you for making this available.
One question though, as this is a first in taking classes live online. What setup do I need to have or what requirements are required computer-wise in order to join in with the class. I saw nothing on the site that explains that (or else I am a real dummy and should know these kinds of things
)
Well, I am a dummy! I just found the link at the top of your Home page for “Sign Up”. You have a very good video on how one joins a class once they have registered for it. Sorry for missing that the first time.
Concern about sign-up functionality:
I never got the initial sign-up confirmation/password email. I tried it with two different new accounts with different email addresses. The email was not filtered as far as I could tell.
I was finally able to log in for the first time by using the forgot password functionality. You may want to look into what is going on there.
I wish you had a contact e-mail that was clearly marked as support… I’ve written on the class bulletin board (Salazar’s rigging) but I never got a response. I signed up for class about 3 hours early but never got the link. Even now all I ever received was paypal’s payment confirmation at 11AM GMT-4. Please contact me at coqui@onelinkpr.net.
we are working on trying to improve the communication aspect of our site. sorry for the inconvenience.
I will make a service area that will handle all support questions. For now Please use services@blenducation.org to contact us with any issues.
Thanks for your support.
Love the free video tutorials. So easy to understand and follow.
Going to try one of the classes soon hopefully. In france so timezone thingy problem
Well up for joining in although youth working twice a week in evenings and teacher training twice a week my evenings are somewhat constrained….
Anyhow have signed up for my first class will see how it goes
Mtor. i asked People in the Forum if they would like to have classes in French, Spanish, and/or German.
Time zones an be over come as well. Please check that out and post a reply.
I agree with QArt textures are hard to find and it would be great if we users can gloat about the stuff we’ve made. So keep it in mind when your thinking of doing something to the site.
